How to properly care for and maintain your products to extend their lifespan.

Care Guide

Our products are build to last a lifetime

At Northern Hunting, we’re passionate about offering high-quality products built to last a lifetime. However, they will only reach their full potential if treated with proper care. Recognizing the crucial role of maintenance in preserving garment quality and longevity, we’ve created this guide to help extend their lifespan. Follow these guidelines to prolong the life of your garments, minimize replacements, and contribute to more sustainable consumption. This commitment is further supported by our 5-year guarantee on clothing, which is valid only when products are cared for according to our instructions.

The following guidelines apply to all products with

ADDVENTEX™ membrane

To extend the lifespan and preserve the performance of your membrane apparel, we recommend the following care measures:

Minimize washing: Membrane apparel should only be washed when absolutely necessary to avoid unnecessary degradation of the membrane.

Water cleaning: If the garment is only lightly soiled, it is recommended to clean it by rinsing it with water at the lowest possible temperature.

Use specialized detergent: When washing is necessary, only use detergent specifically developed for membrane clothing. Avoid using fabric softener. We recommend using Grangers Performance Wash (for washing only) or Grangers Wash + Repel (for washing and waterproofing) for this purpose.

Low washing temperature: To protect the membrane, the garment should be washed at the lowest possible temperature.

The following guidelines apply to all products with

Rudolf Bionic Eco - PFC-Free DWR & Northern Hunting's signature quality

Water-repellent treatments can be washed out after approximately 5 washes or exposure to 10 heavy rain showers. Therefore, we recommend reapplying the treatment with Grangers Performance Repel Plus.

Apply the product when the garment is about 5% damp, allowing it to effectively penetrate the fabric along with the water. This process can be repeated up to 4-5 times to maintain the garment's water-repellent properties.

If you desire an oilskin effect, the product can be treated with a wax treatment.

Caring properly for your hunting clothes not only extends their lifespan but also ensures they perform at their best during your hunts.

The following guidelines apply to all products in wool:

Wool possesses self-cleaning properties, and usually airing it out for 24 hours is enough to remove odors. If needed, follow the washing instructions and wash on a wool cycle with appropriate detergent. We recommend Grangers Merino Wash.

The following guidelines apply to all products with zippers:

To maintain the quality and longevity of the zippers, it is recommended to lubricate them regularly for maintenance.
Avoid unnecessary twisting during use.
